About Us

Who we are

Thirty years of compounding. One brand, finally our own.

Dr. Tattoo Skincare was founded by a team of skincare professionals with three decades of formulation and compounding experience. For most of those years, we built premium skincare under other brands' names — private-label work, behind the scenes, for companies you've probably used.

Dr. Tattoo is our first own-label brand. And it exists because tattoos deserved better than what was on the shelf.

Why tattoos

Tattoo aftercare has been stuck in two camps: greasy ointments designed for diaper rash, or "natural" balms loaded with fragrance and essential oils that irritate freshly-wounded skin. Neither is built for what tattooed skin actually needs at each phase of healing.

We saw the gap. We had the formulation expertise. We built the system.

The principles

  • Derm-grade, not marketing-grade. Every formula starts from peer-reviewed wound healing and barrier science. No trendy ingredients we don't believe in.
  • Stage-specific. Fresh skin needs a different product than peel-phase skin, which needs a different product than healed skin. We respect that — and built six products to match.
  • Fragrance-free. Essential-oil-free. Barrier-first. Three rules. No exceptions. Even when it costs us "natural" credentials.
  • Made in the U.S. Compounded and packaged in our own facility. Every batch tested, every label traceable.

What we don't claim

We don't claim Dr. Tattoo will "preserve" your tattoo forever — that's biology's job. We don't claim our products diagnose, treat, or cure anything — that's a doctor's job.

What we will say: using the right product at the right phase makes a measurable difference in how a tattoo heals and how it looks ten years from now. Two habits — daily hydration and daily SPF on healed ink — do 95% of the work.

That's the whole brand in one sentence.

The team behind it

We're formulators, chemical compounders , dermatology consultants, tattoo collectors, and brand operators. The people who actually formulate the products are the same people who get tattooed and use them. There's no executive hand-off between the lab and the bottle.
