FAQs
How thin is "thin enough"?
If you can still see the tattoo clearly through the layer, you've got it right. Thick = trapped heat and slow healing.
When do I stop using Barrier Ointment?
When peeling and flaking begin — usually days 4-7. That's your cue to switch to Recovery Milk.
Is this safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. It's fragrance-free, essential oil-free, and built for compromised barriers. Patch test first if you're highly reactive.
Can I sleep with it on?
Yes — that's actually the best window for healing. Just apply a thin layer before bed.
Is this petrolatum-free?
Yes. We formulated Barrier Ointment to be 100% petrolatum- and silicone-free — a plant-based blend of butters, oils, and waxes that protects without the heavy petrochemical feel.
